A piece of school work has arrived back at Murphys Creek SS, 124 years after it first left. This ‘sampler’ of embroidery was done by Annie Adkins. Annie was a student at the school in 1889.

Annie’s embroidery has been donated to the school by her great niece, Elaine Naughtin (right) and her great-great niece, Deborah Neven (left). In another interesting fact, Elaine’s mother, Dorothy Graham also attended the school from 1913-1917.

Our plan is to have the piece reframed with glass to protect it and loan it for display at Jessie’s Cottage.
